Have you heard talk about Omega Vitamin Supplements? I know I have been hearing a lot. Omega 3s were recommended to my wife when she was pregnant by her doctor. Then she started to get on me about taking them. At first I was confused. I did some reading,Here Are Some Reasons to Consider Omega 3 Vitamin Supplements! Articles but I still was not too sure about them. So I thought I would ask my Chiropractor, and this is what he told me.

Omega 3 fatty acids have come into the nutritional spotlight lately for a number of reasons. They are a big part of a group called Fatty Acids. These Fatty Acids are essential for certain functions of the body, unfortunately the body is unable to make omega Fatty Acids through your everyday diet. Without sufficient levels, there are a lot of things that will go wrong with our health. What is making this situation worse is the fact that these Omega 3 Fatty Acids are very difficult to find in the typical diet. Fish, walnuts, hempseeds, krill and algae are real good sources. Things we all eat on a regular basis, right? Beef can be a decent source as long as the beef cow was raised on grass, which is rare and fairly expensive today, when this high quality organic meat is easily available. Another problem is fish farming, where Omega 3 content is really questionable due to the feed the fish are given, which often does not reflect their natural diet. Due to their known importance and their scarcity in common foods, Omega 3 supplementation is a good strategy for getting decent amounts of these crticial fats.

The positive effect of Omega 3s in cardiovascular health is well documented. Omega 3s help in many ways, such as lowering cholesterol and high blood pressure, thinning the blood and keeping the heart anti-arrhythmic. DHA, found in many Omega Supplements, is for a healthy pregnancy. Babies are more likely to go the full term and have healthier weight, and better brain function. Mothers are also less likely to get depression. Omega 3s produce an anti-inflammatory effect, as well. Many patients with back pain no longer have to use ibuprofen or any other over the counter pain meds as a result of supplementing with omegas every day.

More and more Chiropractic Care Facilities carry an Omega 3 Supplement that has been put through an extra process that removes toxins like mercury, dioxin and PCBs. This is more important than the supplements themselves. It is so important that my Chiropractor recommends skipping a supplement rather than take one with contaminants.

One way to get started is to learn a little. You could do like I did and schedule a consultative visit. A local Chiropractor will help you find the optimal way to incorporate these important nutrients into a wellness program.

Hopefully, you are starting to truly understand more about the importance of these Supplements. To learn more about Omega 3s, contact your local Chiropractor.
