Tips to prepare your Car for winter
Safety should always be a priority, especially when it comes to winter season where all drivers are affected but many fail to prepare. Don’t be that guy.
- Cold weather is not a good friend of your batteries. Have them checked.
- Tire tread and pressure should be checked more often this season especially if it usually snow in your area.
- The braking system should always be checked, but it’s more crucial during winter due to slippery roads.
- Tune-up should be scheduled before winter completely sets in, if you are already due. The cold weather can easily increase the chance of having problems or worsening the existing ones.
- Heaters, defrosters, and wipers should be in good working condition. Generally, wipers should be replaced every six months.
- Ensure interior and exterior lights, including fog lights, are working properly. Winter may cause reduced visibility and sufficient lighting is important.
- Oil and Filter Change should be done regularly at recommended intervals. Dirty oil is a key contributor to breakdowns during winter. If you live in a very cold area, consider changing oil to match your climate.
