This holiday season, OnStar is once again bringing back its beloved Santa Tracker service, promising to spread joy and excitement to children of OnStar subscribers across the nation. With real-time updates on Santa's journey, this festive feature is set to make Christmas Eve even more magical.
OnStar is reviving its popular Santa Tracker service this Christmas Eve, allowing children and families to follow Santa Claus as he delivers presents around the world. Partnering with the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), OnStar will provide real-time updates on Santa's location, ensuring that kids can keep tabs on St. Nick's progress throughout the night.
Starting at 7 a.m. on Christmas Eve and continuing until 5 a.m. on Christmas morning, OnStar subscribers can press their OnStar button to receive a "Santa Update." OnStar advisors will then provide the latest information on Santa's whereabouts, thanks to data from NORAD's sophisticated tracking systems.
NORAD employs the North Warning Radar System, which uses geo-synchronous satellites and infrared sensors to monitor Santa's sleigh. This advanced technology allows NORAD to detect Santa's location and share the information with OnStar, who then relays it to eager children and families. The radar system is so precise that it can even predict Santa's next stop, adding an extra layer of excitement for kids hoping to catch a glimpse of Santa at their own home.
OnStar's Santa Tracker has been a hit in previous years, with many subscribers recalling the joy it brought to their children. "We see this holiday tradition as staying true to keeping subscribers connected in ways they never thought possible," said Terry Inch, OnStar vice president of Sales, Marketing, and Business Development. "We know many of our customers will be glad to know Santa’s location information is just one blue button press away."
While the Santa Tracker is a fun and festive feature, OnStar assures subscribers that it will not interfere with their regular services. OnStar remains committed to providing essential safety and emergency assistance, especially during the harsh winter weather. The Santa Tracker is an additional service that complements OnStar's primary mission of keeping drivers safe on the road.
