This article provides a detailed account of the incidents reported to the Vineland Police on August 12. The incidents range from thefts from parked vehicles to traffic violations and collisions.
On the morning of August 12, two vehicles parked on the first block of West Walnut Road were reportedly broken into and had their car DVD players stolen. The DVD players were later found in the vicinity.
Other thefts reported on the same day include:
James J. Thompson, 45, from the 200 block of North Delsea Drive, was arrested on the 1500 block of Almond Road. He was charged with simple assault and two weapons offenses. Thompson was also wanted on a Cumberland County Superior Court warrant and was held in Cumberland County Jail on an $8,500 bail.
Joseph Collazo, 24, from the 300 block of Axtell Avenue, was issued six summonses following a collision at Delsea Drive and Forest Grove Road. The charges included fictitious license plates, no registration, expired driver’s license, no insurance, failure to stop/yield, and leaving the scene of an accident. Collazo's vehicle was later found in a parking lot on Freddy Lane and he was traced to Omni Bakery, where he had clocked into work but was not found on the premises. His vehicle was towed from the scene.
