What would it mean if YOU were enough? All the things you need to have a successful business.
In the explorations of my own growth, I’m always deepening my understanding. Always wanting to grow, even if the growing pains hurt and I avoid it at first.
A number of years ago, I was talking with a coach about working with her. I knew I wanted the support, but what I also felt was a need for that support.
I have and had lots of support. I’ve made sure of it. Coaches, masterminds, close personal friends.
And yet, I sometimes felt unsupported.
Since that was not the objective reality, there had to be something else behind it.
It wasn’t that the support wasn’t enough. I didn’t feel like I was enough.
Feeling not enough is a fairly common experience for women and many men too. I hear it often from my clients. We’re steeped in a culture where we’re encouraged to do and buy more, to reach that elusive point at which you are and have enough. The problem is, ‘enough’ is like the horizon. We never reach it.
As long as I felt that I wasn’t enough, I would NEVER feel like I had enough support. So the support thing was really a red herring. A distraction from the real work to be done.
Distractions from deeper work can have many disguises: perfectionism, forever being too busy, or relentless productivity are just a few.
I continue to dig deep into feeling enough. It’s a multi-layered exploration. What it came down to in the final analysis was a decision. A decision on my part to KNOW that I am enough.
I could have continued to analyze. That’s valuable, up to a point. That’s why it’s part of my Impact Breakthrough program. After the analysis, though, what’s next? I could have kept on feeling a yearning for what was missing.
Or I could face the real lack. I was missing myself. ME. Meeting myself wholly. Fully. The knowing, I am enough.
When I made that choice, to know I am enough, things shifted. I felt more grounded, happier, and more fulfilled.
It’s not that I magically never had to go back to this. I still have to remind myself to this day, I am enough. Now I know to do that, over and over. And it has gotten easier. I believe it.
What would it mean if YOU were enough?
You’d charge the value of your work and sell with that knowing.
You’d approach prospective clients with confidence and style and certainty.
You’d write and speak with more fierce-ness and vigor.
You’d rest when you need it.
All the things you need to have a successful business.
So, are you enough? In the end, it’s a decision. After you’ve done all the plumbing of the depths. After you’ve investigated the why’s and why not’s. After you’ve checked in with your soul.
Are you enough? You ARE.

Life will always get in the way, if you allow it. We can put ourselves in a holding pattern too. For a long time, I put off starting a podcast. I’m not ready, I said. I don’t know how to do it, I said. I’m scared to do it, I said. I’ve got too much going on, I said.
