In recent years, Guangxi Beihai developed over 3,500 M hectares pearl cultivation base, the annual production has accounted for above half of the whole nation’s output. The massive pearls are not only processed to pearl accessories, but also widely used in manufacturing drugs and beauty industry
Products are exported to Japan, Italy, the US, Switzerland and other countries and have won high acclaim from foreign buyers for their quality and low price. Some experts estimate that coloured pearls can increase the economic returns of Beihai's pearl farming industry by more than 80%.
