Using a camera, a photographer captures the beauty and meaning (or story) of things, living and non-living. But photographers vary according to their purposes in taking pictures: there is freelance photographer, photographer for models, scientific photographer, photojournalist, etc. They may be different from each other, but they are the same as artist who simply clicks on a camera.

To have an eye of a photographer, one must consider the following: the object, the play of light and other variables like wind, the angle, and his or her purpose. Of course, the type of camera used makes a difference in results. If you love and are good in taking pictures, here are some kinds of photographer you can emulate.(1) Freelance photographer. This sort of photographer work for hobby or for some business purposes. As the name suggest, it is the most free as there is no restriction to objects. He or she may be an outdoor photographer—the one who goes out and takes pictures of mountains, sunsets, seashore, etc. And for that, this type can be any other of the following sort of photographer.(2) Portrait photographer. He or she usually captures images of persons, pets, plants or anything in a studio. Common pictures are profiles of individual or group of individuals for identification, for remembrance, for records of ceremonies, etc. A portrait photographer may also be an outdoor type.(3) Commercial and industrial photographer. There is also a photographer for models, for products, for buildings etc. The usual purpose is for advertisement or promotion as in billboards, posters, catalogs, magazines, etc. His or her other objects may be industrial equipments, places, and personnel. The photographs can be used for company records and analysis.(4) Photojournalist. Photojournalist takes pictures of people or events interesting enough to be worthy of notice by the public. These pictures are commonly used in newspapers, televisions, magazines, etc. The main purpose is to capture not only images but stories behind those images: for entertainment, for information, or for record.(5) Fine arts photographer. This type of photographer has works of arts like painting, architecture or sculpture as objects. The aim is to replicate or re-present beauty is another media, i.e. pictures. A fine arts photographer may also be a photographer for models which he may collect for exhibit.(6) Scientific photographer. The common objects of this photographer are: medical images of human body, human illness, or medical apparatuses and products; images of plants, animals, microorganisms etc.; technological inventions; underwater views or ecosystem; and other science related people and events.A photographer is an artist who simply clicks on a camera and produces a masterpiece.
