KUCHING: RYTHM Foundation,Foundation donates RM126,000 to Pakistan’s flood victims (Interview with Kuna- Senathirajah) Articles an international corporate social responsibility (CSR) arm of directselling company, QNet, has donated RM126,000 (US$40,000) to flood victims in Pakistan.

QNet director Kuna- Senathirajah said yesterday the money went directly to the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) Floods in the Pakistan project.

He said, in the long term, the company hoped to raise RM1 million for the project through a global in-house effort leveraging on its website, blog, intranet, mass emails and other social media channels for maximum exposure.

In a statement here, he said the Kuala Lumpur-based QNet, which has a Sarawak branch, had a history of providing charitable aid and disaster relief in the Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Uganda, among others.

The calamity in Pakistan had come at a time when Malaysians just celebrated the country’s 53rd independence on Aug 31, and Hari Raya last Friday and Saturday.

So far, the Pakistan floods have left more than six million people in need of emergency aid, with WFP leading the Logistics and Emergency Telecommunications Clusters which provides support services to the humanitarian community at operational hubs in Islamabad, Peshawar, Sukkur and Multan. - Bernama
