Black as the devil,
hot as hell, pure as an angel, sweet as love.” That’s the recipe for coffee, according to the utterly French statesman Talleyrand (1754-1838). Humanity’s addiction over a cup of Joe is increasing every single day. No doubt that it is one of the hottest commodities of its time.
People like coffee for different reasons. Keep me awake is one good reason for others and some, simply its rich aroma that can change one’s day. Aroma, let us talk further on what makes coffee different? You might wonder why sometimes, that your coffee is not as strong as your neighbour or with the one that you can get from the coffee shop. Well, I can guarantee you the difference are Robusta and Arabica.
There are two kinds of coffee and this defined the quality of one from the other. If you are a coffee drinker yourself you can tell the big difference by simply tasting it.
Robusta is the one that has rich aroma and is being used to make froth for your cappuccino and because it contains higher caffeine than Arabica, it is widely used in making espresso. On the other hand, the gourmet coffee or the commonly called Arabica is distinctly milder and aromatic. Robusta maybe of low quality but if you are looking for strong kick each morning, you know what to pick.
Some experts would say that Robusta is the easier find and Arabica being the beans of excellence. But do you know that Arabica coffee, accounts for 75-80 percent of the world's production and 20% for coffea Canephora, known as Robusta. Confused? I am too.
Location is very important in growing these two varieties. Robusta is the harder one and it can endure hot weather. Arabica on the other hand requires cool weather and more delicate than Robusta. Proper handling is very important for Arabica, from planting up to harvesting.
In Italy, Robusta is very much popular due to the demand of espresso. In US, you can generally find Arabica in the coffee store and specialty food shop, and Robusta in the supermarket cans. Jars of instant are almost exclusively Robusta.
These two differs in different ways and if we are going to wit them all, it will take as longer to finish. However, one thing is certain, they both give us a natural kick that any other beverage cannot! Its rich aroma can make our day right and bubbly.
Healthy coffee’s antioxidant component is another reason why people go for this every single. Either it is Arabica or Robusta, both gives this antioxidant that is helpful in fighting some diseases like cancer and Parkinson’s. That’s the best thing about this healthy coffee.
So if you are thinking what makes your coffee or the coffee shop next to you different from one to another, you better don’t think twice anymore. It is all about those beans grow in different temperatures, have different shapes and caffeine component. Served as hot or cold, healthy coffee is always one great thing to carry or pick up every day. Make it a daily habit!
