With the announcement of a new network of specialised IVECO Truck Stations across Europe long distance lorry driving will be a lot less stressful in the future.
IVECO is giving a boost to its service network with the introduction of a new IVECO Truck Stations scheme that will take much of the stress out of long distance lorry driving.
The scheme will involve accrediting dealerships with the best performing service centres as IVECO Truck Stations. The idea will be to create a network of high-level service centres across Europe. Each Station will be audited annually to check that performance levels are maintained in order to keep the accreditation.
Haulage workers who take on long distance lorry driving jobs will be supported by extended opening hours at the Stations. They will also have the ability to easily locate and contact their nearest branch via the Assistance Non-Stop Freephone number, IVECO Non-Stop mobile app or their on-board telematics system. The IVECO Dealer Locator will provide directions to the driver’s smart phone using geo-location technology.
While it has announced 24 IVECO Truck Stations now open across the UK, the company plans to extend that to a network of 250 across Europe by the end of this year. The Stations will all be located along major long distance lorry driving routes.
Highly Trained IVECO Staff
These new Truck Stations will be guaranteed to provide the very best technical support to its long distance lorry driving clientele with highly trained, experienced IVECO engineers using the very latest diagnostic tools to resolve any problems.
The company will also guarantee to have the necessary spare parts on hand by using its own stock management and logistics programme including Parts Retail Inventory Management and its new Dealer-to-Dealer ordering system.
Beyond Repairs
As well as high quality repairs and spare parts guarantees, the IVECO Truck Stations will offer a Technical Multiservice which will include tyre and trailer service, body service, AdBlue refilling and a vehicle wash to make sure that lorries leave their centres in the very best condition.
Looking after the Drivers
The company also aims to take the stress out of needing servicing in the middle of a job by offering drivers a space to relax in while they wait.
Facilities will include:
Pierre Lahutte, IVECO brand president, told the industry press: “Our ambition is to provide the best service to our customers together with our Uptime Guarantee promise. With the Truck Station project we aim to create a specialised heavy truck service network on the main transport corridors across Europe. We are in the process of appointing more service points as Truck Stations and plan to have 250 in place all around Europe.”
