Spyderco Bill Moran.

This is a joint venture between spyderco and Bill Moran. The idea was to make a knife that is sturdy for hunting and the outdoors, but at the same time be light weight and easy to have with you at all times. This knife has a length of eight inches and also has a handle made of fiberglass, nylon, and kraton inserts. The blade is a VG 10, and offers amazing sharpness. This all comes to the user in an easy to deal with three ounces weight. This knife is an excellent skinning knife, but be aware, it is not a survival knife, and should be used for hunting, and light chores only.

The handle on this knife is quite ergonomic, and is simple to grip making it a good and safe tool. If the handle gets wet, no worries because the kraton on the top and at the side permits the owner to maintain a sure grip which it important when cutting wet meats or doing some filleting of fish. The belly of the handle is quite fat and makes it easy to use the knife no matter whether the user has big or small hands. They made a point to keep the appearance of the handle simple and basic, but i assure you it does what it was made to do.

The Bill Moran knife has a blade that is 3.9 inches in length, and 1/8th inch thick. The blade is made of the VG 10 Japanese stainless steel. Knife blades made in Japan have a very strong reputation for strength, sharpness, and over all quality. Once again keep in mind, this knife does not double as an axe. This knife is made to perform skinning, processing of fish, and various light chores near the camp. It would not be for cutting branches or chopping a path in the bush.

To sum it up, this knife is incredibly sharp, has a very ergonomic grip to it’s handle. The knife has a weight of three ounces that is not a burden to have in a pack or at the waist. It is a remarkable hunting and light chores knife that comes with a zytel sheath that is quite durable, and has good strength. This knife is a great choice, and will not disappoint the buyer.
