The phenomena of producing the fruits by different trees during different seasons have a strong business .....
Who knows and follow the philosophy of ‘I need you and you need me’ in nature? What is the real meaning of the word ‘I need you and you need me’? The very fabric of the entire nature and its species diversity itself is woven based on the above tenet of interdependency only. The vision and wisdom of nature in sensing, knowing and practicing the above philosophy would certainly provide an exceptional insight to the corporate world.
Many fruit bearing trees and plants utilizes different season’s viz., summer, winter and spring for fruiting. Why they chose different seasons for fruiting? Imagine, what would happen if all the different trees/plants fruit simultaneously at the same season?
One should know the fact that none of the trees or plants produces fruits just to provide it to others. These plants smartly envelop the ‘seeds of future’ by the fruit pulp. When various birds, insects & mammals eat the fruits, the seeds are dispersed in different places. Thereby the new generation of the plant would happen. This is all known and what is so new?
Successful seed dispersal is possible only when all the fruits are eaten by different animals. If all the plants fruit simultaneously means neither the plant nor the fruit eating animals would benefit. Further the animals also become lazy when so much of diverse fruits are available at the same time.
It appears that the trees have understood about the limitation of seed dispersal possibility if all of them had produced fruits in the same season only made them to produce fruits in different seasons. Many trees like mangos, melon etc. have preferred to fruit during peak summer. The mango and melon plants understood the acute water need during summer and hence they produce very ‘succulent’ or ‘juicy’ fruits.
While other plants like papaya and pineapple have chosen to fruit during spring season while orange, grapes and pomegranate plants have identified winter to be their right time.
When different plants produce their fruit during different seasons, they ensure that all the fruit eating animals are available throughout all seasons in the ecosystem. Perhaps, the different plants before selecting different seasons for fruiting would have entered into an understanding among themselves as how to keep the fruit eating animals in good stud.
What the modern corporate must learn from the above is that only the smart business strategy alone ensures success and not competition. Another important lesson to be learned is that only the collective responsibility alone assure common goal. All the trees need different fruit eating animals for seed dispersal. By having decided to fruit at different seasons, they can continuously support the needs of seed dispersing animals.
Despite having a separate business goal and smart strategy by these plants, they also developed a collective & common responsibility in protecting the seed dispersing animals by following the law of ‘you need me and I need you’.
Every corporate need to follow the above law of protecting the welfare of consumers while competing for business ends through cutthroat business approach.
