As the trend of wooden floors has developed in most of the countries the use of wood as flooring material has increased. There are mainly two types of wooden floors and the third one can be considered as an artificial wooden floor. All these types are further discussed I this article to help you understand the process completely. 1. Solid wood: Use of solid wood as a flooring material is not seen in tremendous amounts but I will like to tell you one thing that use of solid wood is the most genuine process for wooden flooring. In this process one large piece of solid wood is used all the way down for the flooring process. This large board of solid wood comes in various sizes and shapes. These boards are then cut down into long strips that can be used either vertically or horizontally. Nails are used to fix them with the floors. Some of these are finished material and some are unfinished material. The finished wooden floors do not require any polish or lacquers to be applied on them as it is already applied in the factory.

You are just required to install the solid wooden where ever you want. The disadvantage of this finished flooring is that when you fit them with the floors using nails then the nails will become visible but you should try using invisible nails if possible so that they do not deform the beauty of the floor. Moreover when unfinished wooden floors are installed they are polished after their installation and nails hide somewhere in the polish. 2. Engineered wood flooring: This type of wooden flooring uses a ply that covers the wood in order to give a smooth and finished look the wooden floor. This type of flooring generally uses a hardwood or a layer of multilayer plywood. These boards can bear load and are strong in nature.

It seems that they will not be very reliable as they can break easily but this is not the case. The main advantage of using engineered floors is that they do not require any polish or lacquer to be applied on it. It is already in its finished form. This method of flooring is used when you have installed under floor heating systems. The smoothness comes from the ply that is used as the most upper layer. 3. Artificial wooden tiles: As the wooden floors have gained great success so the manufacturers have started using their creativity and innovation in making their tiles. For some people the wooden flooring process gets bit expensive and they can not afford it. But if they want to enjoy the same look and beauty of the wooden floors they can use the wooden tiles. The difference is that these tiles are not made from woods but give the same look as the wooden floors. They can easily be installed and easily to clean also. The advantage they provide is that they do not require any kind of polish to be applied on it.
