How to read tyre size:

Now that you are looking at your car’s tyre, you will find some numerals and alphabets written there it would read something like - 195/55R16 86 V, each of these number and letter refers specific measurement and here is what it means:

195- this is the width of the tyre which is measured in millimetre.

55- This is the profile, it shows the aspect ratio.

R16- Here R means radial tyre and 16 is the internal diameter measured in inches.

86V- This shows the load index, ie how much weight it can carry.
