Window ACs, Split ACs, Tower ACs or Cassette ACs – Choose Wisely as per Your Need

India might be a country with various climatic conditions. But any and every Indian will agree that no matter the month most Indian afternoons will always be hot and humid. One way to combat the heat and humidity is by using an air conditioner. Different types of air conditioners are available depending on the size of the room and the amount of individuals present in the room. The most common among them are Window ACs, Split ACs, Tower ACs and Cassette ACs.  

Window AC
A window AC is a small unit and is often used to cool a small space like a bedroom or an office cabin. It is one of the most commonly used air conditioner for any small room. The reason it’s called a window air conditioner as it requires a window for installation. With the front half of the air conditioner facing inside the room and the back half placed outside the room. The system dispenses cold air through the front inside while heat will be discharged outside. As the compressor and evaporator are both placed in one unit it is extremely easy to install, however its cooling capabilities are limited.

Split AC   
Split air conditioners are generally utilized for their power consumption. One AC is divided into two units. The cooling unit is placed inside the room while the compressing unit that gives out hot exhaust is placed outside the room. As both units of the air conditioner are separated a split air conditioner is far more powerful in terms of cooling. This cooling system is highly beneficial for offices and rooms with no ventilation but they are not suited for areas where it is difficult to connect both units inside and outside the room. 

Tower AC
Tower or floor standing air conditioners are ideal for large rooms and spacious offices. Tower AC units also consist of two sets one inside and another outside. However rather than your average wall installation a tower air conditioner occupies some space on the floor. These units contain a highly powerful cooling system and do not require walls or windows for installation.

Cassette AC    
These cooling units are generally utilized to save space in rooms. They are attached onto the ceiling of rooms and are shaped like cassettes to blend perfectly with the decor of any room. These units require no ducting and are perfect for areas where normal window or split air conditioners cannot be installed.

When it comes down to the wire selecting an air conditioner mainly depends on the type of room you need the air conditioner for. The two main outlining factors you should keep in mind is size of the room and location of the room. With air conditioners you rarely get a warranty that last over a year or two.
