The important lesson the moths teach man is about the danger due to attraction and addiction....

All that glitters is not gold.  How true is the famous phrase in Merchant of Venice written by William Shakespeare to animal world?  Human beings easily fall prey to glitters and believe all that glitters is gold and hence they love to venerate them as most precious/valuable.   In such a stupid run,Floating focus and corporate employees Articles men often get burned their life and then live in perennial sorrow.

The interesting question is whether animals also suffer from such illusion of all that glitters is gold?  The truth is that many animals also believe in such possibility and like men, many animals also get burned or perish their life due to such weakness.

Light, the analogue to glitters only influence the life of many animals to disaster.   Many insects especially the moths do get easily attracted to light.  Many other insects such as winged ants also move towards light.

Knowing the weakness of these insects only light based traps are used to catch them.  The smart wall lizards usually wait behind the light source knowing fully well that insects move fast towards the light and hence can be easily caught.

Perhaps, some insects including moths may be thinking that they could achieve something great, may be enlightenment when they move towards light.  Had they not get carried away by the philosophy of all that glitters is gold, they would not have become an easy meal to their predator.

Glittering things need not be great things.  All that attractive things although can really catch our attention but need not make any true meaning to our life.  Appearance can go deceptive in most instances.

A light, although may help one to see the truth in the best possible way or to remove the darkness, but getting attracted or addicted to something always need not offer the best result.  Moths, whenever they see a light source get addicted to it for the real reason only moths alone may know.   But their addictions only push them into disaster.

Similarly, all the glittering things catch the attention of man and finally he gets fooled like moths.   The interesting question is whether man follows the moths or moths’ follow the man?

Even if it may sound crazy, scientific evidence suggests that man only would have picked up the habit of foolishly getting attracted to all glittering things from insects or as a result of insects.  Insects were evolved much before man and hence their weakness for light (glittering things) has to be much older than man.

But in spite of knowing the foolish act of moths getting attracted to light and its consequences, why still man continue to live with his weakness for glittering things?  May be a small part of moth’s brain would have got cloned into the brain of man during his evolution.  Remember light will not only help you to see things around you, but also help others to see you better.  This philosophy some insects have not yet learned and that is why they blindly move towards it.  Get close to something but do not get foolishly attracted or addicted to anything is what the life of moths convey to man.

Let this be a firm lesson to the corporate employees as they are always get attracted by the better salary structure of different concerns.  Look at the work content as well and not just salary alone otherwise, you will become another moth.
