A new addition to the LG Cookie range of mid range touch screen phones has now been released, the LG Cookie Fresh has been made available as a Pay As You Go phone and is also known as the LG GS290 Cookie Fresh.This new budget touch screen phone joins the original LG KP500 and KP501 Cookie handsets with a new, sleeker design and improved features and is to be released in a range of new colour schemes similar to those of the previous model.The first colour scheme out of the traps is the Silver LG Cookie Fresh which is to be closely followed by a new Orange edition, this latest LG phone offers touch screen technology to those on a tight budget and also manages to pack in a some great features.Some of these include a 2.0 mega pixel camera, a 3 inch touch screen display, FM radio and multimedia player with a 3.5mm audio jack allowing the user to plug in their own set of standard headphones. although there is no WiFi, 3.5G support or GPS which helps to keep the handsets price low there is a firm focus on social networking with support for Facebook and Twitter amongst other websites.The user interface has been tweaked for a fun cartoon theme and the LG Cookie Fresh is able to download widgets to personalise the home screen, this new LG phone has been launched as direct competition to the extremely popular new Samsung Genio Touch and has managed to come in at a slightly cheaper purchase price making this an attractive buy for those watching their pennies.There are a number of budget touch screen phones currently available on the market that would make good alternative to the LG GS290 Cookie Fresh, these include the likes of the Nokia 5230, Orange Miami, Samsung C3510, Samsung B5722, T-Mobile Vairy Touch and Vodafone 541 all of which offer touch screen technology on a budget.The manufacturer has been busy of late releasing a number of new models including the LG Viewty GT, LG Viewty Smile and most recently the new LG GD880 Mini phone.This is the first release for this latest LG phone and is ideal for those who do not like to commit to a long term contract deal, there are plans to release the LG Cookie Fresh on pay monthly tariffs over the coming weeks as well as a SIM Free launch with no network ties or extra ongoing costs.The LG GS290 is to be made available in a staggering 16 different colour schemes so hopefully even the fussiest consumers will be able to find a model that suits.
