Overview:As the Xerox Phaser 6180N has proven to be one of the most favorite office accessories,
its multifunction MFP successors; Xerox Phaser 6180MFP/N and Xerox Phaser 6180MFP/D could become even more popular. With the additional fax and scanner functions, improved work performances, and amazing full color print capabilities, both models make an excellent choice even for the most demanding proficient users.
These advanced multipurpose color laser printers can be bought in duplex and in non duplex version. Non duplex models can be turned into duplex but it’s even more expensive than the original duplex version so it’s not recommended.
Xerox Phaser 6180MFP has an integrated 150-sheet multipurpose feeder and 250-sheet input feeder. The capacity can be enlarged with additional 550-sheet input tray for the most demanding high volume printing, but this additional tray is not very budget friendly; it costs almost as the half of the whole unit. 50-sheet automatic document tray makes it a great stand alone fax unit, with the capability of over network faxing as well.
400 MHz processor and 384 MB standard memory supply enable very good speed performance. Max Printing Speed up to 31 ppm for mono and up to 20 ppm for color printing makes it the first class device in its category. The quality of the output is outstanding. Maximum 60000 impressions print capability per month may seem slightly under expected performance level, but it also is one of the best results in the color printer category. For all of its functions The Xerox Phaser 6180MFP can handle paper sized of up to 8.5 x 14 inch.
Color print test results show that the Xerox Phaser 6180MFP is a higher-end color laser printer that delivers excellent color print performance and features. Xerox Phaser 6180MFP is a higher-end color laser MFP offering good performance and features. With a maximum of 600 x 600 dots per inch its print quality could be questionable, but only if not tested. The device provides 16 shades of color per inch. Compared to the usual 1 shade per inch it appears to be a great result. The 1200 x 1200 dots per inch can be simulated at much higher speed.
Cons: The disadvantages of this high-end office device are generally limited to some minor issues in the network option setup. So, the network faxing function setup is a bit complicated and could be a problem to the unprofessional users to complete, mostly due to a weird quirk involved in the process. The network scanning feature setup is unfortunately not automated, so the manual setup might also take a little time, while the whole Xerox Phaser 6180MFP has a very convenient automatic setup.
