Romance Books are keeping the online e-book industry alive and women are playing a pivotal role in it.According to a recent news article by Fox News women are the driving forces behind the rise in e-book sales over the past few years,Women readers are behind the new romance sales! Articles mainly in the romance novels niche. And the reason for that is the long love story of women with romance and Erotic Books, which are now finding a great market in the online electronic book format. This is contrary to the stereotypes that e-book sales cannot simply happen due to interest but only because of good marketing and the least expected market would be the boring romance novels, or so they say. However this isnt true or anywhere close to being true, unlike men who love graphic content when it comes to sex or romantic pleasures women prefer more of the personified, imaginary, erotic feelings that comes form romance novels and readable content. This is a clear indication of sexual differences between men and women. But this is not just statistics that say this but also a recent study titled A billion wicked thoughts that analyzed millions of online searches by both men and women who looked or visited erotic and romantic websites. The result showed that men went straight for graphical explicit content while women navigated their way to stories, rumors and scandals that had nothing but plots, love and sex.It doesnt end there though; the top selling magazines online on many major platforms such as Amazon, Barnes & Nobles, etc are womens magazines, female oriented titles and romance books.Another fact that confirms the statement is that women own 55% of e-readers (electronic devices which are built for reading content such as online versions of magazines or electronic books) when compared to men. This goes to show that women are more interested in reading books for pleasure.Men, on the other hand, tend to purchase both eBooks and physical books that deal with non-fiction topics such as global politics, business, computers, car maintenance, etc.Men tend to read more to acquire practical information that they can use in their lives, while women on the other hand see reading as more of a source of entertainment. The New York Public Library has the highest circulating ebook memberships in the U.S, according to them book loans are up by 36% since last year. While general fiction accounted for most sales & readership majority of them were from romance and erotic booksScience Articles, usually during the weekends and most of the time from female customers.
