India is a land that is very famous for its colorful hordes of festivals spread all over the year. From Baisakhi to Christmas, there are many festivals in 12 months and each one of them is celebrated with same high voltage excitement. The Christmas cake and the Diwali sweets are made with the same love and affection and that’s because we as a country stand united in diversity.

Food and sweets forms a large part of our celebration and the best part is that every festival has one specific sweet as an identity. Let’s now India a bit mor eiwth tehse celebration sweets.

1. Golden Yoghurt: This is one of the simplest sweet dish that anyone can prepare as it requires very few easily available ingredients. The golden color to the plain yoghurt is provided by saffron strands and the unique taste to this dish is due to rose water, cardamom, nutmeg, sugar, and pistachios. Serving it cold is a ritual during Janmasthami festival. This Janmasthami is the birthday of Lord Krishna who is believed to be another incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

2. Groundnut Halwa: This type of halwa is one of the identity of the Dusshera festival. Some people also believe that preparing groundnut halwa on birthday’s showers good luck. Fresh groundnuts are taken and grounded to make a paste which is then mixed with milk and sugar and dried to get desired shapes. It is a must try when you are in India.

3. Til Ke Laddoo: The round dumplings made out of sesame seeds are really tasty and it is prepared during Baisakhi festival. It is one of those harvest festivals of our country. Sesame seeds, jaggery, coconut powder, white and brown sugar are required to make this sweet dish.

4. Gajar Ka halwa or Carrot Kheer: Gajar Ka Halwa is one of the much loved sweet dish of any Indian. More or less people of every state has some sort of liking and loving for this sweet dish. It can be called one of the Deepavali sweets among many others like rice kheer, laddoo, kesar-kaju Barfi, etc. Full cream milk, milkmaid, sugar, dry fruits and carrots are mixed to get this amazing sweet.

After having a taste of these sweet dishes, you must be knowing well why Indian people are sweet in every way. We believe in spreading sweetness and therefore to greet guests and friends we use sweets.
