Production rates across GE Aviation have increased by more than 10 percent in the past year.
The company’s Dayton-area facilities are working to fill orders placed at the 2010 Farnborough International Airshow, where GE Aviation amassed engine and services orders valued at more than $16 billion, the company said.

The six-day 2012 Farnborough International Air Show has a trade exhibition that kicks off July 9. The air show runs July 14-15.

Japan Airlines received Boeing’s latest commercial airliner (the 787, or “Dreamliner”) in April and became the first passenger airline to receive a GEnx, GE Aviation’s newest commercial engine, for which Dayton facilities produce ducts and tubes, the company said.
Evendale-based GE Aviation has 1,400 employees at three local sites — two in Vandalia as well as Unison Industries in Beavercreek — and 9,000 employees in Ohio overall.
