A 19-year-old second year student of computer technology in a well-known engineering institution, along with his elder brother, was forced to ride on bikes to a desolate destination by four misreants where they were robbed on Thursday evening.
Anilkumar Pandey and his elder brother Sumeet were allegedly threatened with dire consequences by the miscreants.
Shailesh Raut, his younger brother Kishor, and their two more accomplices whisked away the brothers from Police Nagar in MIDC to a place where they were tortured with an intention to rob. It is learnt that Raut brothers, who have dubious reputation in the locality, had spotted the Pandeys when they had visited a nearby tea stall.

After returning to their rented room, the brothers were busy in their daily chores when the Raut brothers and two more unidentified persons barged in.

The Raut brothers started demanding money from the Pandeys who did not have many valuables in their possession. It is learnt that the Rauts held back Sumeet and asked his younger brother to accompany one of them to an ATM to withdraw cash.
Out of Rs 4,000 that he had as balance, Anil was forced to withdraw Rs 3,500 that Rauts took away. They also snatched the mobile phone of Anil after they returned to Police Nagar.
