Landmark Aviation, which provides fueling operations at Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro, has been awarded the 2012 Silver Nozzle Trophy by the National Petroleum Management Association, according to an announcement.
The award recognizes the top airport fueling operation in the United States.
Flight School
Landmark Aviation, which houses its corporate headquarters in Houston and has more than 50 locations around the world, is one of two fixed-based operators at PTI. The other is Atlantic Aero.
Aviation Colleges
Last year, Landmark Aviation performed more than 22,000 fuelings totaling 17.3 million gallons of jet fuel from PTI.
“Our fueling operation is a seven-day-a-week undertaking that we subject to continuous inspections and quality assurance checks,” Bruce McCall, general manager for the Landmark Aviation location in Greensboro, said. “We believe aviation will be a real bright spot in future economic development in the Triad, and we are committed to being one of the leaders as this industry continues to thrive here.”
Added Kevin Baker, the airport’s executive director, in a statement: “This award shows that local companies like Landmark have what it takes to support the growth of the region’s aviation sector.”
