Halifax is also known as one of the most beautiful natural harbor at Atlantic ocean coasts. One of the city most loved symbols is the Old Town Clock that sits distinctly on Citadel Hill. The Citadel national Historic Site is a towering landmark itself with a huge angled fort sitting atop the city largest hill. The Army Museum can be visited there and the park is a popular one for viewing the city or relaxing in the sun.

The south shore of the city has numerous picturesque scenes such as Saint Margaret Bay which is a collection of small towns that seem dedicated to the arts and crafts and also boast many fine beaches. One of the UN World Heritage sites,The City of Halifax Articles Lunenburg, is located to the south of the city. It is the best known for its sailing schooner named the Bluenose which was built in 1921. Apart from the Lunenburg Fisheries Museum and a major fleet in the harbor this town offers some splendid and varied architecture.

Yarmouth is the largest town in the west of Nova Scotia and it boasts a major fishing port with rows of wharves, some for boats and others for entertainment. Up by Digby Neck alongside a long, thin strip of land that juts into the Bay of Fundy, are Long and Barrier islands. Long Island is home to an odd attraction known as Balancing Rock, a seven meters high stone column that literally appears to be balanced on the edge of a cliff.

Halifax is visited all the year round by tourists who are interested in historical heritages and enjoy sea romance as well.
