If no action is put in place, the issue can negatively impact the students' academic performance. So, the campuses need to put in place ways to help students struggling emotionally.

We all hope for the best in the future. So, according to dissertation writing services, to help the community at large, the campus administration should include a public health system to improve campus students' overall social life. When there are more concerns, the rate of substance abuse and suicidal thinking goes down. The campus admin can use the following guiding principles to help the students live a better life.

  • Promoting social connectedness:

According to research, staying alone throughout is a sign of low emotional health risk and can easily promote suicide. So, a good support system from the campus, family, friends can help minimize such risks.

  • Teaching life skills:

The college should include programs that teach about life skills. We can't assume that all is okay. There are stressful moments in college. Including professionals to teach about depression, anxiety, and substance abuse should be on the line up of activities. Above all, such professionals help students with different ways of overcoming such challenges.

  • Encouraging help-seeking:

Some students prefer to stay silent on the matters affecting them. At times, they don't know who to trust and share their issues with. In other cases, they don't know how to approach the matter, which can be damaging. The reason for reluctance in seeking help is the lack of mental awareness on the campus. The campus staff should have a cognitive awareness facility where students can freely visit to seek help.

  • Restricting access to potentially lethal means:

According to studies, limiting access to means leading to suicide minimizes accidental death rates or suicide actions. Items such as poisonous chemicals and dangerous weapons should not be allowed anywhere in the campus compound. Also, measures should be put in place to avoid access to rooftops or extreme heights while on campus.

  • Identifying students at risk:

While students who need help might fail to come forward for help, the campus must know how to know students suffering from emotional torture. Let everyone in school know how to identify a student who needs help and refer them to the appropriate people for support.

Conclusion

There is too much pressure on students. Some have issues with tuition payments, while some come from emotionally unstable backgrounds. Whatever the case is, such students require adequate help to help them concentrate on their studies.  It is the campus's duty at large, family, and friends to offer support when needed to save students from depression and anxiety.
