Engineering professions have always been  lucrative. Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering have been the most lucrative of all and it is because not many people are pursuing career in these fields of discipline due to the fact that they are generally highly challenging especially the two aforementioned engineering disciplines.The few people that are ready to face the challenges of the profession are well paid.

Many people who don't pursue engineering as career do so because of lack of interest in solving mathematical problem and engineering disciplines are full of this.

Many people could be attracted to pursue a career as engineers if we can encourage them right from the young ages. Encouraging young ones to thread the path of engineering can be made fun and easy by following the three methods as listed below.

Getting Them Mentors

This including assisting the young school children to make connection with professionals in the field of engineering who will monitor them to chose engineering disciplines that  interest them at their young age. By interacting with the professionals they may be encouraged and may also be able to find answers to some intricate questions that seem to be deterring them from pursuing engineering as a career.

When young people see those that have make success in their field of disciplines, especially when they have opportunity to relate with them one on one they tend to get inspiration to want to follow in their footsteps and become like them. They then see them as role models.

A mentor can tell them how important an engineering discipline is, what school is the best to do a certain engineering course, the entry requirements. He can also get them internship which sometimes open their eyes to the field of discipline that fit them and how to work themselves around to achieve success in their chosen engineering fields.

Allow Them Opportunity to Play

You should spare them time to engage in play and ensure you provide them tools and maybe gadgets they can use to explore their imagination in the field of engineering. There are lot of them like brick toys which you can provide to experiments with them. You can take the toys apart and tell them to assemble it to for a meaningful object it initially represented. Encourage them to build some things using all sorts of engineering toys.

Allow this young ones to have a play in the mist of adult people and they can be left alone to have free play among themselves..

Encourage Asking Questions

Never stop them from asking questions. Children are somehow very intelligent, they like to ask questions about things they are curious about especially thing around them and the works of engineering. So you must try as much as possible to encourage them to ask questions when something is not clear to them. You too can ask them simple but logical questions about how simple tools or engineering work in their house works. Some of thing you can ask them to explain for an example are: what make a car runs? Why is a bicycle tire made of rubber? Or what make clipper  cut hair? And more. This increase their desire toward engineering career and the more they are able to explain how these tools and gadgets function, the better they will get at innovation and application of their ideas.

If the above mentioned methods are carefully follow and applied then we may experience an upward change in the number of engineers in our societies in the future.
