Although many people are sceptic about the process of building solar panels,8 Steps to Build Solar Panels for Your Home or Business Articles it is not too difficult. All that is required is to have the right materials and instructions on how to do it step by step. After a few weeks or even days your solar panels will be ready and functional. You do not have to spend your money purchasing expensive solar panel systems when you can make them yourself by following theses simple steps.

Steps to follow when building solar panels

There are many sources of information on how to build solar panels. However some of this information may be too technical for some people to understand. Nevertheless, there are simple steps that you can use in building solar panels that are capable of generating up to 100 watts. They are as follows:

Gather the required materials and tools: You need to know and find the materials that you will need to come up with quality solar panels. Some of the materials include transparent sheets that have been stabilized, black and red insulators, soldering iron, insulated terminals, adhesive glue, project box, digital multimeter, schottky diode and crimping tools.

Measure direct current voltage of the solar cells using the multimeter, use the positive (red) and negative (black) to determine maximum voltage of the cells when positioned together. Regroup your cells to ensure that they give a voltage of up to 0.05 volt. Regrouping cells ensure that they give maximum output.

Every cluster of regrouped solar cells forms a solar panel. Use an interconnection wire to connect solar cells. This should be done using six equal parts of the wire. Add soldering iron on each end of the interconnection wires but leave a break at the central part of the wires. To all connection strips found after the cells, use soldering iron to join interconnection wires.

Join your solar cells into series circuit then flip the surface or board that you are using in soldering cells intact. Get another cell then soldier it in a face down position on the previous cell using interconnection wires between them.

After doing this, your solar cells will be intact but you will have to connect them to produce electricity by charging them using energy from the sun. Sequential soldering of solar cells makes this possible. Positive and negative terminals should be soldiered properly with interconnection wires running on both the top surface and bottom of following cells.

A sheet that is resistant to ultra violet rays can be used to protect solar cells. Once you have established your structure, overturn it with cells facing upward. Place it on an ABS sheet and the soldier negative and positive terminal on the first and the last cell. Use a glue to attach an acrylic bar on top. Only one bar should be attached on the top while others should be attached at the bottom of the ABS sheet.

This should also be done to the left and right margins of ABS sheet. This should result to a rectangular shape. Addition of some blocks between solar cells can strengthen solar energy absorption. However this should be done in an alternating manner.

Once you have finished this, position your solar panel at a strategic place where it will have maximum energy intake throughout the day. It is important to note that strength of a solar panel is determined by the materials used. A solar panel built through this process is capable of generating 100 watts.

Once you know how to build homemade solar power on your own, it will be possible for you to save a lot of money on your monthly bills. Having a few solar panels on the roof or in your backyard you are assured of energy supply as long as the sun is shining on them. Today, solar panels are used even by corporate institutions to enhance their energy saving and also contribute towards generation of green energy.
