The plastic bags today have become a cancer for the society. Plastic bags are sold in every store and in most case they are being bought and thrown away after only one use; it's startling what part of the plastic bags end up in the oceans every year. According to a recently conducted research a plastic bag is used for a period of time little more than 10 minutes. After that is rarely used again. And while the useful life of one plastic bag is pretty short,Recycling of Plastic Bags or Else! Articles we can't say the same about its afterlife.

A plastic bag can persists up to a 1000 years in the nature, you can easily estimate what will happen if we keep throwing plastic bags whenever we like instead of recycling them. But the plastic products in general impact the life on our planet in other aspects as well. A lot of energy is required for the production process of plastic. Fossil fuels are being burned for that and this leads to emission of gases, which according to the experts consider are the main reason for the global warming and the greenhouse effect. The resources like crude oil that are the main ingredient for plastics are non-renewable. This means that it will come time, when there will be no more and if we keep spending those non-renewable resources so unwisely, we will face huge deficit pretty soon.

Like we said previously, lots of plastic bags end up in the oceans or in the natural habitat of many wild land animals. Since they are so light [ the bags] they can easily “escape” from the landfill, blown by the winds. Once in the ocean the become killers, they break down into smaller pieces and lots of animals confuse them with food – once the pieces are swallowed, they quickly cause death. And after the death body decomposes, the plastic is onto the next victim.

The process of de-composure of plastic bags like we said is long. But that doesn't mean that the very same process is safe too. It's a great source of greenhouse gases as well.

So what can we do in order to stop the pollution of our planet with plastic and preserve it so our children could enjoy its beauty too. Well we can stop using plastic wraps, bags and packages. I know it sounds a little bit harsh and it's probably not possible to the reduce the usage of plastics to zero, but we can still try to use one bag a couple of times, we can refuse to buy plastic wrapped products too, we can reuse old plastic boxes for other purposes instead of simply throwing them in the rubbish bin.

If you wonder where you can turn plastics for recycling – you can search information about organizations in your area. Maybe the cleaning services within Melbourne vicinity can help with advice, they do rubbish removals they know about recycling.
