It is now being increasingly accepted that artificial flowers are great substitutes for real flowers,Artificial flowers – a great alternative to the real thing Articles despite many people putting them down as “unreal”, “untraditional” or “not the same”. Advances in manufacturing technology have made it possible for faux flowers to look almost exactly like the real thing, a far cry from the fake bright green plastic leaves and flowers which were very obviously plastic. A wide range of flowers may be available, including, but not limited to roses, orchids, callas, lilies, hibiscus, lilies of the valet, magnolias, gerbera daisies, stephanotis, lilacs, ranunculus among several others. More expensive companies also provide several accents, which may or may not be real, including baby's breath, berries, pearls, gold tone preserved baby's breath, stephanotis, color & clear crystals, gypsophila, pearl sprays, rhinestones, rhinestone flowers and porcelain mini stephanotis.

Many companies dealing in artificial flowers are able to offer extremely realistic flowers in a wide variety of materials, more commonly paper, silk, foam and latex and many customers are very pleasantly surprised at how realistic the flowers are. Other common options are velvet and silk to make them appear even more real. The material used, however, varies largely according to the type of flower in question. For example, calla lilies are usually made out of foam or latex since these result in the most realistic calla lilies. It is not a common practice to use silk for these flowers since silk is unable to retain its shape for long periods of time and results in very cheap and poor quality imitations.

Many people are now beginning to prefer artificial flowers over the real thing since they tend to offer unmatched value for money: a bouquet consisting of real flowers normally ends up being twice as expensive as one made up of fake flowers, and there is hardly anything to choose between the two when it comes to quality. In addition, unlike real flowers, the artificial alternatives have the advantage of being available all year round without any limitation of seasons. They will not wilt in the hot weather and will not droop if they haven’t been water, and you don’t even have to worry about dropping or knocking over your bouquet.

The best part about artificial flowers is the immense variety that is available, be it a traditional white or cream bouquet, or a colorful one. Decorative bouquets made up of fake flowers could be just the thing to make your next event special without breaking your back and your budget.
