Speeches are given by the best man, bridegroom, and the giver away of the bride. First speech / Giver away of the bride. This is his opputurnatly to talk about the bride, praise her, and tell stories of her childhood. They would welcome the groom to the family, welcome the guests to the wedding, and purpose a toast. Second speech / the groom. The groom speech is on behalf of the groom himself, and his new wife. He would thank the parents for all their support and express how happy he is. He may want to say how they met. Thank friends and family for being there on their special day. Thank the best man and all the people who played a role. Then he would purpose a toast to the pageboys and the bridesmaids. The bride may want to say a few words if she wishes. Third speech / the best man. It is to be funny, light hearted, make a few jokes and tell a story on the groom. Everyone present on this special day would be thanked, and best wishes would be given to the newly wedded couple for their every happiness in the future. He may want to read any cards and speak on behalf of people who are absent. Then he would announce the cutting of the wedding cake.
