Oftentimes, we think research is the key-learning everything we can and studying what works in forex trading, but this is not true!

Knowledge is easy to get in forex trading, yet why do so many people still fail? Simply because knowledge is not enough, and moreover, it is the right kind of knowledge you need to learn.

Success is not simply bought. There are no short-cuts to success; acquiring the right knowledge is your key. It is getting knowledge that works and being confident in it. You can build a system from free resources you can find in the net. Your goal is to make money, and not to be clever. It is important to remember that the simpler the system is, the more chances it will work.

In a simple system, these three things are guaranteed to work: trend lines, support and resistance to spotting these trends, and three confirming indicators.

Moreover, acquiring the right knowledge is not enough. You must understand it, and have confidence in it. Such will give you what many lack: discipline. So if you simply follow others without understanding the system, the whole thing will not work.

So how does one get the right knowledge? The internet, though helpful, is not the place to research. Get books by top traders who talk based on their experiences. Books on trader psychology also help. After getting these books, you can then go to the internet to build a system based on technical analysis, a breakout methodology, and find indicators in order to confirm trend momentum. It is important to remember that building the system is easy, but building one's mindset is hard, so you will need to work on the latter more.
