The villa was built in the eighteen hundreds by the baron (that of Pasquini castle) for the painter Vittorio Corcos, Sordi had bought it in 1962 and kept it until 1997, few years before passing away in 2003, when he decide to sell it to a Tuscan entrepreneur. 

At the beginning of 2000, the owners, in love with Castiglioncello and the villa, aware of the historic and cultural patrimony the villa symbolizes,, did a well-finished conservatory restoration of the smallest details, resulting intact the study room of the actor with his portrait and that of Corcos the painter, the desk, some personal objects and photographs of Sordi in several moments of his long-lasting career. 

Sordi's villa and the other historic dwellings, including those which belonged to Mastroianni and Susso Cecchi D'Amico, contributed in making Castiglioncello famous in the 60's when it becaome the favorite destination of remarkable icons of the Cinema of Italy.

The first was built in the 60's by the Count Flavio Callisto Pontello, creator and president of the Italian soccer club "Fiorentina" for many years; the second villa belonged to Luciano Meschi, the topographer from Livorno who made fortunes printing forms of telephone bills. In both cases, the buyers were from Eastern Europe. 

"Since the last years most of the clients interested in buying extra luxury villas and historic dwellings in Italy have been from Eastern Europe, in particular Russians and Turkish, according to our research about the market", explains Dimitri Corti, "our future clients will come from Asia: China and Hong Kong in mind"
