How to Get Away From Crawling Insects at Home

The control of crawling insects, such as cockroaches, ants, etc., consists of a combination of measures, including the sealing of entry points that are around your home, blocking the access to the indoor hiding places of your home by caulking around the cabinets and light fixtures. You can keep food preparation areas clean and free of excess food, and by removing sources of water or moisture, and by generally maintaining sanitary conditions in your home and around your yard. If you find traces of ants in your home, you will want to trace them back to their nests and destroy the colony. You will want to use pesticides as a last resort to help control the crawling insects, and use this method judiciously.

Even the feared tarantula, doesn't really pose any real threat, even though the tarantula can be very intimidating.

The best way to control all types of spiders around your home is to periodically inspect the potential indoor hiding places, such as the under base cabinets, the furniture, and storage areas around your home. You will want to kill or relocate the individual spiders as you find them in your home, and knock down or you can vacuum up the nests.

You will want to eliminate potential hiding places within and around your home by removing any wood piles, trash, and any accumulated clutter around your home. It's a good idea to caulk or to seal potential entry points into your home as you would for other pest problems. If you by chance have a widespread infestation in your crawl space, attic or basement, you will want to treat the area with foggers or other appropriate insecticide sprays, and be sure to follow the label's instruction.
