A Brief Description of a Penile Papule
A penile papule is something that many men will experience during the course of their lifetime. Thankfully, these bumps are generally very harmless.
A penile papule is a small bump that usually forms around ring of the top of the penis. Unlike other bumps,
they tend to be flesh-colored, with a dome-like shape. This bump doesn't form by itself, however. In fact, there are usually a group of papules that come together to create very organized rows. Some people describe them as being similar to a pearl necklace. Contrary to what some people may believe, these bumps are nearly harmless. One of the only side effects that accompany this type of rash is uncomfortable feelings during sexual intercourse, caused by increased sensitivity levels.
This non-life threatening bump is something that many men are familiar with. It's actually quite common, especially for males who are in their twenties and thirties. Those who are uncircumcised are also more likely to have these papules form around their genitals. It is probably safe to say that almost every man will experience a bout with these bumps at some point in their life. Luckily, they usually go away on their own.
Although a penile papule is fairly harmless, it still causes some men to be anxious about getting rid of them. They will often pick at them in an effort to make them go away. However, this is not a good idea, because this can cause scarring or even infections.
This doesn't mean that men just have to live with them, however. It is understandable for someone to desire to get rid of papules or any other abnormality that forms around their genitals. Thankfully, there are treatments available to help make them disappear. One of these treatments is called carbon dioxide laser ablation. The procedure is fairly simple, and involves very little discomfort, if any, during the recovery process.
Although there are procedures available to help people experiencing these particular types of bumps, some men will refuse to get treatment. They may realize how harmless it is, and just opt to allow it to go away on its own. This may be okay once they have gone to a specialist and had it checked out. Even still, it is never a good idea for someone to try to diagnose themselves.
Therefore, even though the appearance of the penile papule has been described, a person shouldn't just use a description they have read as their final authority. It's always best to check with a skilled physician before making the final decision.
If someone suspects that they have a penile papule, there's no need to panic. However, they don't have to try and figure it out on their own. The best bet is to allow a specialist to help, because the average person could end up overlooking something more serious and harmful.
