Autism Treatment – Spring Allergies, Regression and Autism part 2 of 2
www.AutismRecoveryTreatment.com Autism Treatment – Seasonal allergies can bring about a flare in yeast. There are many things you can do both to control the allergies and treat the yeast if it does begin to flare. Biomedical autism intervention specialist physician, Dr. Kurt Woeller, explains. www.AutismRecoveryTreatment.com
In the first part of this series on yeast and spring allergies we talked about why we see this and some tips for preventing or addressing it. Now we will discuss even more ways of handling this if it does occur. If you want to address allergies you can certainly do that through the use of supplements. Things like stinging nettles,
vitamin C, bromelain, N-acetyl cysteine and quercetin can all be quite helpful. And New Beginnings Nutritionals carries a product called A and I formula which has many of these ingredients in it. It can be used when you have acute allergy symptoms and even on an ongoing basis for maintenance as well. You can go right to their website and find out more information on A and I like dosing or buy it directly from them.
And if you see the behaviors in your child that indicate a yeast flare then of course you can begin doing the things we know to be effective against it. You can work with your doctor to get a prescription anti-fungal such as Nystatin, Nizoral, Lamisil, Diflucan, etc. You can also look at natural remedies. Once again New Beginnings has a wide array of products that can help, one is their yeast control formula that combines four different herbal remedies. You start with one remedy and can give between 5 and 10 drops twice a day for 5 days and then you select another remedy and do the same thing until you have gone through all 4 herbs. Another really good anti-fungal is called grapefruit seed extract. You administer grapefruit seed extract two or three times a day, with between 5 and 8 drops each time to help kill yeast. Or you can use another natural remedy called Candex which is an enzyme supplement that helps to deteriorate the cell wall of the yeast. The things that I see the most benefit from are the grapefruit seed extract and the yeast control pack that you can find through New Beginnings.
But if you are using the supplements and the allergies are still persistent then you may want to consider even a short course of medication to control them. You can talk to your family doctor or pediatrician about getting a prescription for Singulair or you can use Claritin which is over the counter. It may just even take 4 to 6 weeks, a short time, to get over the worst part of allergy season. So once again, this issue of springtime regression due to yeast flares is something that I see time and time again and it is something to be aware of with your child.
