Botox injection is most commonly used as a way to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and deep facial lines. However,Botox for Breast Lift? Articles some “medical spas” are offering this treatment as an alternative breast lift procedure for women who want to improve the appearance of their bust without the need to undergo an invasive surgery.

But despite the growing popularity of this procedure, most breast augmentation experts believe that the treatment cannot significantly change or improve a woman’s bust. Such procedure may be even unsafe since Botox is not designed to lift the breasts, according to some plastic surgery doctors.

Some plastic surgeons believe that patients may have an illusion that their breasts are lifted after the botox injection because this chemical can paralyze their chest muscles which will force them to stand straighter, thus lifting up their bust. But literally speaking, the result is a far outcry from the real breast augmentation and breast lift procedures performed by qualified plastic surgeons.

Aside from botox injection, some “beauty clinics” are promoting cleavage rejuvenation procedures that are said to improve this part of the breasts by injecting fillers to remove the wrinkles and make the tissue appear fuller. However, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) has dismissed such procedure as another “baseless hype.”

The organization believes that such procedures are gaining popularity due to low economic situation in which people are looking for the cheapest cosmetic procedures they can find. Unfortunately, most of these are ineffective, if not unsafe to be performed. And to make matters worse, these “quack” treatments are usually performed by providers who are not qualified to do invasive and nonsurgical cosmetic procedures.

Consult with Board Certified Plastic Surgeons

Because any plastic surgery involves some risks, patients should only consult with a board certified plastic surgeon who specializes in a certain procedure. For example, a doctor who performs face lift may not be the best one to do a breast augmentation procedure.

In addition, patients should also consider the experience of their doctors when it comes to performing a certain procedure. Ideally, they should choose someone who has been doing a certain plastic surgery for at least five years or so.

Aside from board certified plastic surgeons, some dermatologists are also allowed to perform cosmetic procedures which are mostly non-invasive in nature. Examples of these are facial volumizers, cellulite treatment, botox injection, ultrasound liposuction, and laser resurfacing treatment.
