Change is a word that invokes a variety of responses in people. Some love the newness of change, others see it as a disruption and for many, it invokes stress, anxiety and fear. However, in this world, the progression of life brings forth modifications. Growth inspires change and we should find coping skills to help manage the variations.

As a certified sage-guided colon therapist I see new clients who have experienced another practitioner and want to undergo a change. A client may sometimes want to experience a new therapist due to location or personal needs and should have awareness of the protocol one might encounter.
What is Colon Therapy?
Colon therapy is the safe and gentle introduction of warm, filtered water into the colon for cleansing. A speculum is slowly inserted into the rectum to administer this process. The session is managed by an experienced or Certified colon therapist using an FDA approved colon therapy device. The colon is also known as the large intestine, the gut, large bowel or 2nd brain.
People utilize colon irrigation as an adjunct therapy for digestive issues like constipation, gas, bloating, IBS, stomach pain and overall discomfort. Clients consistently report relief from digestive issues and continue well beyond a series of sessions to engage in a periodic colonic maintenance schedule. Colon therapy educates clients on the importance of long-term colon care.
Immunity
The colon houses a large percentage of the body’s protective immune cells. Knowing you have an organ with a large impact over your immunity should create a willingness to render maximum attention and care. Water-based colon cleansing is a great way to support an increased life expectancy.
Confidential
Due to the intimacy of this procedure, a client will typically remain with the same therapist for their colon health needs. However, occasionally, a client may find it necessary to locate a new therapist. Like switching from a doctor or a dentist, many colon therapists operate differently and may have some additional benefits to help you achieve optimal results.
The 4 Reasons
The main goal of the colon therapist is to practice safety. This goal is achieved by employing safe session procedures. The consultation is an education process for both the client and practitioner. Therefore, it is important to keep the following 4 reasons at the forefront of your mind as you are requested to fulfill a new-client colonic consultation if switching to a new therapist:
Reason #1: Build Rapport
A 30-minute consultation allots plenty of time to ask questions and find comfort with the practitioner personality, demeanor and industry experience. Additionally, you will have time to familiarize yourself with the practitioner facility. For example, it is important to note the location of the bathroom in relation to the colonic session room.
Reason #2: Practitioner Safety
The practitioner has sufficient time to review your holistic health questionnaire to understand your health history and note indications OR contraindications for colon therapy use. This step could identify any red flags preventing client safety, [pause] allow time to understand digestive complaints and speak to dietary habits which may prove detrimental to achieving optimal colon health.
Reason #3: Client Safety
The client can clarify questions related to the questionnaire, communicate their detailed colon issues and relay the goals expected to achieve by employing colon therapy.
Reason #4: Review The Colonic Procedure
The therapist can go through each step of the colonic process and identify the special tools and techniques utilized during the session to help you achieve optimal colonic results. The client will then have time to ask questions about these new tips and confirm comfort, prior to the session, to ensure safety.
Taking Action
I have provided you with the 4 most important reasons for undergoing a consultation upon switching to a new colon therapist. Empower yourself to withstand a colonic consultation for your own safety. This policy will allow you to educate yourself about the colon therapist’s philosophy and confirm your practitioner choice. With any new practitioner and client relationship, safety, comfort, relaxation and results should remain the priority goals when experiencing colonic therapy treatment.
