Breast augmentation surgery is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures for women today. Although many women have successfully gone through surgery to enhance the size and shape of their breasts,Concerns After Breast Augmentation Articles there will always be a handful of women who are ultimately disappointed in the results.

Once you've gone through the process of breast augmentation, nothing is worse than feeling that the surgery did not turn out as you had hoped. You may feel they should have gone larger or smaller. You may feel that they are not as natural looking as they had hoped. If you spent a lot of time with your doctor reviewing options and developing solutions then your surgeon most likely did their job and carefully executed the surgery you received. However, as with any elective surgery, results can vary.

The important thing to remember is that breast augmentation, although a highly effective surgery, results can vary from patient to patient. Even with a good plastic surgeon and a long planning process to find the right solution may not always result in a perfect way. The first step in deciding whether you are truly unhappy with the results is to live with your new implants for a while. Get feedback from family and friends. Often women are disappointed because they don't feel "perfect," but often after a few weeks post recovery women get used to their new body and start to feel more confident in their new breast size.

There are situations where revisions can safely be made. Some women shortly after surgery or even a year or two past their surgery may notice that one breast is higher than the other. This is a direct result not of surgery but of the healing process. Your doctor will have explained to you that full recovery takes up to six months. During this time your body is healing both inside and out. Sometimes internal scarring can happen in such a way that the implant shifts up, down, and even sideways. There are simple procedures to correct this shift.

Just as with normal breasts, overtime your breast implants may start to sag as gravity affects your body. Instead of having another breast augmentation surgery, another effective revision solution is the breast lift. This surgery removes excess skin and fat and lifts your implants back up to recreate a youthful look. This is a very effective surgery for women with implants who bear children or older women who have had their implants for a while.

These options are simply suggestions. If you are very concerned and very unhappy with the way you look than breast augmentation was not successfully performed. The most common reason for women to undergo this elective surgery is for self-esteem and confidence. If you're unhappy, you must speak with your surgeon or get the opinion of another surgeon to see if things could have been done in a way that could have effectively given you the desired result. Revision breast surgery is always an option.
