Thoughts: Earth Diet reader Ian Campbell wanted to share this with us...(we have come to quite a processed and chemical world so quickly it seems)
"I grew up in the country and on my Grandfathers farm he collected his own rain water,
dug out a well for water to flush the toilet, used to give the cattle salt licks to get rid of the worm, not much in the way of chemicals used in his day either, they had also a orchid had to watch out for grubs in the apples though. chickens. dairy cows who were always keen to be milked and had a order in which they entered the bails, chickens for eggs and Sunday roast. In my grandfathers day it was taught when killing a animal you had to not create distress in it as it makes the meat tough and as we all know most country folk are tough but kind hearted. For centuries people who have raised animals had to keep watch over them so they get to eat them before something else days as many animals eat each other to survive. As you would also know older peoples cars never had many miles on them as they used their vehicles sparingly and if you have a look at their electricity bills the same goes with that too. My Grandfather used to also break horses into harness as to use them to pull a plow as it was common right up until the 1950s here in Australia and the same went for carrying loads as he used a horse and dray to bring the timber from another town to build his own house which still stands BTW. Jamie Oliver was going mad about how something as simple as a pork sausage has changed in the UK as the same sausage has more fat and chemicals than it did in the 1950s, looks the same but the greed, lack of concern or pride of workmanship has seen us being fed rubbish. In the cemeteries in the UK I saw people who managed to live to 80 plus in the 1500s because that's what was written all over their grave stones. Human beings are designed to work in agriculture as that is how we have survived for this long without dying out." Ian Campbell
Challenges: It seems as a race we are disconnecting from the Earth. And food plays a major part in our connection with Earth, with ourselves and each other. Food is more than just eating to satisfy an emotional craving or to get full. Food is supporting our existence. And most people don't eat food. They eat processed artifical cardboard.
Triumphs: A lot of people are waking up and becoming aware. Eventually the rest will follow (my ultimate dream). I want all human beings to experience an abundance of health, joy, love and peace and IN MY LIFE TIME!!! Earth Diet peoples!!!
