Hair transplantation,Hair Transplant Method Articles sometimes also called 'body sculpting surgery it is a type of cosmetic surgery utilized to combat hair loss in men and women. The procedure involves taking hair from one part of the body (the donor site) and implanting it into the site of recipient.

Hair transplant method can be broken down into three different procedures. The first is the Follicular Unit Extraction or more commonly FUE, method. The procedure is performed using tiny skin plugs are removed from the recipient site with the hair follicles. The hair follicles are surgically removed and the skin closed up.

The second method is known as follicular unit strip harvesting , or PIN. In this method, small skin grafts are removed from the site of recipient and implanted in small strips around the scalp. These strips will be removed after they have grown fully, and the grafts are then implanted. The grafts will need to be replaced several times because they may need to expand. As they get bigger the scar tissue develops around them.

Third procedure is known as autologous fat transfers. In this procedure, extra fat from another area of your body gets gathered and then transferred to your scalp. The grafts come from your body whether from a donor or by using a fat extraction tool. The process is more complex than Strip Harvesting since the fat has to be taken from a source which is not compatible with the skin. The procedure will also take a few weeks as the autologous grafts will have to undergo multiple procedures before they can be grafted onto the scalp of the donor.

The fourth procedure is also referred to as locally anesthesia unit transplantation, or the LAS transplant surgery. In this procedure, general anesthesia is utilized. One graft will be removed at a time while the scalp is opened up to allow for the procedure. This technique uses a lesser number of grafts than what is used with Strip Harvesting and transplantation of the follicular unit and has been proven to be more effective.

The fifth and final step that is part of strip harvesting referred to as transplantation of follicular units (fut). In this process, an entire follicular follicular section is harvested before the scalp is open to allow the follicle regenerate. When the follicular unit is transplanted, the hair will start to grow. Since this procedure involves using anesthesia, it's costlier than the earlier procedures and may need to be carried out under local anesthesia.
