When the follicular unit is transplanted, the hair will start to develop. Since this procedure is involving anesthesia, it's costlier than the earlier procedures and may need to be carried out under local anesthesia.

Hair transplantation,Hair Transplant Procedure Articles sometimes also referred to as 'body sculpting surgery is a kind of cosmetic surgery used to treat hair loss in females and males. This procedure is performed by taking hair from one area on your body (the donor site) and placing it in the recipient site. The procedure involves removal of the skin from that is where hair was to be transplanted, and is typically very successful.

Hair transplant procedure can be divided into three basic procedures. First is the Follicular Unit Extraction, or FUE method. Through this method, tiny skin plugs can be removed from area of the recipient with hair follicles. The follicles then are surgically removed and the skin sealed up.

The second procedure is known as follicular unit strip harvesting or PIN. In this procedure, tiny skin grafts are removed from the area of the recipient and then implanted into small strips along the scalp. These strips will be removed once they have developed fully and the grafts are then implanted. The grafts will require replacement several times because they may need to develop. As they expand over time, scar tissue is formed around them.

Third procedure is known as autologous fat transfers. In this method, excess fat from another region of your body is collected and then transferred to your scalp. The grafts are sourced from your own body whether from a donor or using a tool for fat extraction. The procedure is more involved than Strip Harvesting because the fat must be harvested from a source not compatible with skin. The process can be lengthy because the autologous grafts are required undergo various procedures before they are able to be implanted onto the scalp of the donor.

The fourth procedure is also referred to by the name of locally anesthesia unit transplantation, or the LAS transplant surgery. In this method, a general anesthesia is used. One graft is extracted at a time , while the scalp area is opened to allow for the procedure. This procedure requires a smaller number of grafts compared to what is utilized by Strip Harvesting and Follicular Unit Transplantation. It has been shown to be more successful.

The fifth and final stage that is part of strip harvesting referred to as follicular unit transplantation (fut). In this procedure, an entire follicular unit is taken and the scalp then removed to allow the follicle regenerate.
