High cholesterol – a common health problem

This medication is known as Fluvastatin and is also available under the brand name of Lescol. It has been found to be an effective treatment for high cholesterol with a low risk of side effects. It is available in the form of a capsule in dosage strengths that start from 20mg. One important thing that you need to keep in mind while taking this medication is that you should not consume grapefruit or grapefruit juice. This is because combining it with Fluvastatin can cause severe side effects.

This pill contains Atorvastatin as its chief ingredient, which works by lowering the cholesterol levels in your body. The lowering of the cholesterol levels is carried out by affecting the enzyme known as HMG-CoA, which is responsible for producing LDL cholesterol.
