If you have or have every suffered from a nail infection then you may have gone down the road of understanding that it may just not be your nails that are suffering. Often times, the reason behind a nail infection actually has to do with other issues going on in your body and the reactions are being reflected through your nails. Whatever may be going in your body may be coming out through your nail bed.
One such issue that seems to affect the nails is that of candida. Candida albicans is a build up of yeast throughout the body. This type of disease lends itself to all types of physical ailments and one such ailment is nail infection. The yeast tries to escape through any part of the body it can find an outlet and often times the nail bed is one such area. You may find bumps or blisters underneath the cuticle. Trying to cure this disease with a hand cream or other topical solution may be more irritating to the nail infection then actually curing the disease.
Another interesting turn of events is certain types of cancer affect the nails. Not to cause immediate alarm, such as if you have acrylic nails and you notice a nail infection, it most likely is because of the acrylic, not a cancer. If you have experienced something notable in your life that affects your nails you should not immediately jump to the conclusion that you have a cancerous strain in your body. But definitely take note of your nails and if you notice great changes without an underlying reason, you should seek professional help.
