Dealing with pool chemicals can not be avoided in maintaining the swimming pool's hygiene. Pool chemicals ranging from algaecides to chlorinators are available on the market. Some of them can be purchased at low prices but the thing is you don't need just one type of pool chemicals,
you need a variety of them that will sure lead to a large bill. Another thing is the safety of these chemicals, the most common pool chemical is chlorine. However, chlorine causes eye irritation and allergies to some people. Introduction of bromine as an alternative to chlorine made the consumers free from eye irritation and it works longer than chlorine. The problem is that bromine is twice the price of chlorine. Hydrogen peroxide is also considered as an alternative to chlorine, it's effectiveness against bacteria is unquestionable. However, using this pool chemical is too risky, the concentration should be 35%, very high indeed. Hydrogen peroxide is also very fatal when digested and it doesn't prevent alagae formation. Another pool chemical is the algaecides which can be bought at low price. Algaecides are effective against algae build-up and treatment of current algae. The problem with algaecides is that they can cause water discoloration, spots and colored patches on the pool walls. To prevent the formation of stains in your pool, oxalic acid should be in hand. The fact that this is acid, it should be used properly, combining it with other pool chemicals is not advisable. Safety should not be compromised when dealing with pool chemicals. Some of them are life threatening if not used properly or when mixed with other chemicals that's why knowing the guidelines and asking advice from the chemical experts should always be in mind to prevent unwanted accidents
