Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis is a type of rheumatoid arthritis but it does not have the rheumatoid factor.
Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis comes in the same kind of disorders termed as autoimmune system disorders,
as that of the rheumatoid arthritis and is identical with it in the signs as well, but the chief dissimilarity it has is, it is classified by the missing of rheumatoid factor. Rheumatoid factor, or RhF or RF, is an autoantibody most significant in rheumatoid arthritis. So, when this factor is missing, it becomes enigmatic to determine the severity of the RA. And so, keeping specific account and jotting down each and every detail about the disease symptoms is advised to the patients, so that, from the write-up, the expanse of the disease can be recognized, and, it can be noticed if there is any sequence in the expanse of the disease. Signs and sypmptoms are identical with that occurring in rheumatoid arthritis, viz. joint inflammation, redness, swelling, pain and periodic high fever. This type of arthritis is more habitual in men. There are various sorts, e.g. psoriatic arthritis, enteropathic arthritis, Reiter’s arthritis, ankolysing spondylitis, reactive arthritis and undifferentiated seronegative arthritis.
The treatment comprises of medication for symptom relief and training the patient to live with RA. Usually medicines for pain reduction are prescribed, while over-the-counter anti-inflammatory drugs are allowed. Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), for example meloxicam, and disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) e.g. methotrexate are prescribed commonly.
Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis being an autoimmune disease, it becomes important to raise the immune mechanism of the body to struggle with the ailment. Diet plays a fundamental part in increasing immunity. The RA diet is of a lot of use in this disease also. This diet is prescribed especially to manage inflammation as well as for controlling the diminishing of joints. It consists of avocados, fish, like, salmon, sardines or herrings, leafy, green veggies, grapes, blueberries, soy milk, walnuts, raspberries, strawberries, tofu, whole grains, such as, brown rice and millet, seaweed and wheat grass. Sugar, dairy products, alcohol and heavily processed foods must be taken in least quantity. Spices e.g. turmeric and ginger too work wonders in suppressing pain and inflammation when consumed in food. Plus, ginger oil should be administered on the affected joint to get pain relief and increasing flexibility in movement over a period of time.
As there is no assured cure for the disease, the patient should live happily with it and s/he can accomplish this by following such proper diet and exercise practice. Inflammatory symptoms are greatly decreased when sugar, wheat, dairy products, soy and citrus fruits are removed from the daily meals.
Low intensity aerobic workout such as biking, swimming and walking are advised to rheumatoid arthritis patients. Exercises that build strength also can be performed on some days of the week. These workouts improve the quality of life with the disease by improving the extent of motion, flexibility and pain killing capabilities. It is advisable to do a five minutes warm-up before commencing the workout. You can do brisk walking thereby the blood will start flowing rapidly and lessen the incidents of trauma. The patient should discuss with the physiotherapist to incorporate such types of exercises into the everyday schedule.
If sensible drug therapy, exercise and diet are chosen, it is not hard to tackle with Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis.
