There are so many myths about acne and these myths have done nothing towards preventing or curing acne. In fact,
it has made it worse through its conventional wisdom. Following are some of the much heard myths:
Diet is the reason behind acne
According to studies, there is hardly any connection between acne and diet. But there are some other doctors who quote that some people get worse outbreaks if they eat chocolates. Although there is no scientific connection between the two but there have been many such cases. Lee J. Vesper, MD states that teens have a diverse variety in their diet and it is very hard to determine the actual dietary reason behind acne. David M. Spencer, MD marks that it is very hard to determine the food and diet effects on skin. Some other doctors also agree to this point.
It is very difficult to determine whether diet is responsible for acne breakouts or not. An average diet consists of potatoes, meat, milk, other dairy products, bread, fats and sugar. The common factors in this food stuff are that they all take long time in digestion. This can develop lot of bacteria in the stomach causing infection. These food stuffs also develop lots of acidic and toxic waste which takes time in elimination. Liver, kidneys and colon are the organs which help in doing this elimination but they have a limited capacity. After reaching that upper limit of capacity, body releases those toxins through lungs and skin causing acne.
Stress, masturbation/sex are the reasons for acne
There are some hormones which are released after having sex. The body reacts to stress by discharging these hormones. After serving the purpose, these hormones are of no use and they have to be released. Since the liver is already loaded and there is no space for these hormones there, it releases through skin breakouts and cause acne.
Acne is incurable
Acne is surely curable is you keep your body clean not only from outside but also from inside. Acne myths are spread to sell inefficient acne treatment products and hence it should be avoided.
