Motherhood can be very hard on a woman's body and make everything appear saggy and stretched out from pregnancy and breast-feeding. If you've tried dieting and exercising and your still feeling like you're in your post-pregnancy body it might be time to consider something more extreme to get your pre-mommy body back.
If you don't want the whole mommy makeover package you can opt just to have lipo. Sometimes this is all you need to get your stomach back and feel like yourself again.
There are several different ways for your surgeon to do lipo. The customary way during surgery, is for your surgeon to make an incision in the fatty area, and insert the cannula, which is the surgical instrument that will suck the fat out. This type of lipo is considered invasive surgery, and will probably leave you bruised and swollen, but it is an effective method to get the fat out.
Other types of liposuction include laser or ultrasound. These methods are considered less invasive, because they are not actually done under anesthesia. Both of these methods are deemed nonsurgical, and can be done in your surgeon's office or clinic. Both of these methods consists of using either laser beam or an ultrasound wand, which basically dissolve the fat, that is then flushed out of your system instead of being sucked out as in traditional liposuction.
If you choose nonsurgical methods, your healing time is of course shorter and you don't have to worry about surgical risk including clotting infection and bleeding. Nonsurgical methods are generally are no more invasive than getting a tattoo and involved some mild pain and discomfort that can be controlled with over-the-counter medication. You should talk to your surgeon about what type of lipo would be the best for you, and be aware that no type of liposuction can remove more than ten pounds of fat at any one time safely.
If you're still overweight from your post baby weight, you may need to try and get the fat down, before lipo will be an option. Ideally this procedure is done to remove those fatty cell deposits that are not responding to diet and exercise is not procedure that's done instead of dieting and exercising.
Another thing to bear in mind is that this is not a permanent weight loss method. You can gain back the weight and fat, if you don't maintain a healthy lifestyle. So if you're considering this cosmetic procedure to get rid of the flab and get your body back be prepared to commit to staying healthy, and in good shape, in order to keep your new body in top shape.
