They will then be sewn together in such a way that the waist will be made to appear slimmer and the stomach taut and flat. When the doctor is satisfied with the tightness, the skin, which has been raised up to the ribs to expose the muscle wall, will then be placed back and trimmed to fit the new contours of the stomach. The tummy tuck surgeon will need to make a new hole to accommodate the navel.
