Looking for productive things to do at home during quarantine? We've made a list of productive activities that can help you feel busy and break up the monotony of staying at home 24/7.
Are you already getting the "stuck at home crazies" during this quarantine period? Do you feel like you need some productive things to do at home to keep you feeling busy and to keep you sane?
We completely understand. Almost everyone is in the same boat right now, which is why we wanted to write this article with some simple and easy things to do to keep you busy and productive… even if you aren’t leaving the house!
Let’s get started.
Work!
If it’s possible for you to work from home, that should keep you busy for at least most of the week!
Take the time to set up a private office space in your home. This will give you a place that’s your own where you can focus and get things done. If possible, try not to work in your bedroom as this can make you feel more tired and unfocused.
If you don’t have space for a home office or you need something with real office amenities, consider signing up for a virtual office space service. These types of services offer a business address, a place to send and receive mail, call forwarding, and more. This will help you set up a true work from home office that feels like you still have all the amenities you need to get things done.
Clean
Now, working and cleaning aren’t the most fun tasks, but they will both make you feel very productive. And why not get down and dirty cleaning your home if you’re going to be stuck there for the foreseeable future?
Go room by room vacuuming, dusting, wiping windows, and more. This also is the perfect opportunity to go through your things and get rid of or donate whatever you don’t want or need anymore.
This will help you feel refreshed and less claustrophobic while you’re stuck in your home for the time being.
Home Workouts
Without access to the gym, sports teams, or even many local parks, many of us are falling into a rut of inactivity. Not only is this unhealthy for us physically, it can also induce feelings of sadness and depression as well… which is definitely not what anyone needs right now!
On the other hand, staying physically active can help you feel healthier and can boost feelings of happiness and energy as well.
Thanks to the Internet, you have access to so many types of at-home exercises and workouts. Head over to YouTube and type in whatever you want to find a video to follow along to! Yoga, HIIT, stretching, Zumba, you name it and it’s there!
You can also get outside for a run or walk (with a mask, of course!). Many of these workouts require no equipment, which is perfect if you don’t have supplies. You could also go online and order some dumbbells or resistance bands to make things a bit harder on yourself.
Start a Garden
Getting outside for some fresh air and sunshine is so important. Not only does this break up the monotony of the days, but sunshine and fresh air have been shown to help people feel happier and more relaxed by increasing your serotonin levels.
If you have access to a yard or even just a few flower pots, get outside and start a garden! This is a great family friendly activity that can give you some delicious crops like peas, tomatoes, squash and more. Flowers are another easy option that will make your yard beautiful and can be brought into your home for a bit of colorful brightness!
