Situated in Mumbai, Kamalnayan Bajaj Hall & Art Gallery, is an initiative of Jamnalal Bajaj Seva Trust of the Bajaj Group. The venue has a multipurpose Hall, an Art Gallery and a Workshop Studio which can be rented for events.The venue was set up in 1980 in memory of Kamalnayan Bajaj, a philanthropist, multifaceted human being and promoter of art, culture and literature. He was the elder son of Jamnalal Bajaj, a humanitarian, freedom fighter and adopted 5th son of Mahatma Gandhi.
The Kamalanayan Bajaj Hall and Art Gallery was set up in 1980 in the memory of Kamalnayan Bajaj, a philanthropist, industrialist, multifaceted human being and an ardent promoter of art, culture and literature. Kamalnayan Bajaj was the elder son of Jamnalal Bajaj, a freedom fighter, social reformer, humanitarian and a devoted follower and adopted fifth son of Mahatma Gandhi. The Art Gallery is a landmark at Nariman Point, in South Mumbai, Maharsahtra. Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery gives young aspiring and established Indian and international artists a platform to display their creations. The Kamalanayan Bajaj Art Gallery is well known among art lovers, connoisseurs, critiques, institutions, colleges, studios, media as well as general public. It also boasts of a workshop studio, available on rent to artists and others to conduct their workshops. The workshop studio at the Kamalanayan Bajaj Art Gallery is available to Professionals and Artists to conduct art workshops or product demonstrations. With an approximate area of 125 sq. ft., the workshop is available on rent through the year from 11:00 a.m. till 6:30 p.m. The workshop is also available on an hourly basis and only on a first come-first serve basis. Facilities at the workshop studio include a Well lit room with adequate lighting and accessories, fully air conditioned, sufficient electrical plug points and fittings to connect your desktops, laptops or any other electrical appliance, an Audio Visual System, and an adequate number of Chairs and Tables to accommodate everyone attending the workshop. A number of workshops have been held at this studio. A few of them are as follows;Clay modeling workshop by Artist Sachin WaikarSachin Waikar, a well known name in the Clay modeling arena, gave a demonstration on the occasion of the opening of Monsoon Exhibition organized by Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery to promote young and talented artists.Enamel Art By Kana LomrorKana Lomror is a Mumbai based freelance artist with a passion for design in enamel. He has worked with a multitude of jewellers, designers and organizations to develop designs in enamel. Kana is a member of the International Enamel Studio. Kana is teaching enameling for last 8 years. Having done his Masters in Painting from Shantiniketan, he started enameling from the same institute. He has been conducting workshops throughout the country and has also travelled abroad for further skill up gradation in this magical medium of fusing glass onto metal base.Kana Lomror with his artist wife Kavita, conducted a workshop on Enamel Paintings. The participant artists also took advantage of the new medium of Enamel and enjoyed making their own creations. Mr. Kana Lomror conducts regular workshops and Classes of the Enamel works at various places including Kamalnayan Bajaj Art Gallery.Silver Clay Jewellery By Shruti DevInternational Award winning Silver Clay Art instructor, Ms. Shruti Dev, conducted the workshops on 27th, 28th and 29th May, 2011. She introduced making fine silver Jewellery with Art Clay Silver. This class was for anybody who would love to create their own personalized pieces of jewellery from scratch. No previous knowledge of making jewellery or working with metal clay required. In this workshop students were introduced to the basic skills to work with Art Clay Silver. They learn how to set up work space, texturise, cut mould and extrude clay, re-hydrate dry material, and safely use a kiln / butane torch to fire creations made at home.To book the workshop studio, an artist or professional needs to submit a soft copy of his bio-data and photographs of his work. Dates for the workshop are fixed according to the convenience of the artist and subject to availability of the venue. The Gallery also helps in promoting their work by uploading their information at social networking sites and sending out invites to its database of patrons.The prime motive behind establishing Kamalnayan Bajaj Hall and Art Gallery is to continue to introduce, encourage, promote and develop art and creativity of aspiring and established artists, influenced by culture, tradition, heritage, passion and beyond.
